Senior Accountant

Prepare financial statements: This includes balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements Analyze financial data: Identify trends, variances, and potential issues to inform decision-making Prepare and review financial reports: Ensure accuracy and completeness of reports for management and stakeholders Manage the general ledger: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records Perform account reconciliations: Ensure that accounts are accurate and up-to-date Prepare tax returns: Ensure compliance with tax regulations Assist with tax audits: Provide support and information during tax audits Ensure compliance with accounting standards: Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards and regulations. Assist with internal and external audits: Review financial records and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. Maintain and strengthen internal controls: Develop and document business processes and accounting policies. Supervise junior staff: Train, mentor, and provide guidance to junior accountants Manage accounts payable and receivable: Oversee the processing of invoices and payments Assist with budgeting and forecasting: Contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts Provide financial insights and recommendations: Offer financial advice to management Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices: Continuously learn and improve their skills Senior account/Consultant The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant that will be able to travel to clients. qualified individuals (CA(SA) or SAIPA accredited) Relevant financial qualification Solid understanding of accounting principles Computer literacy and data entry skills Spreadsheet experience (good knowledge of excel/ formulae etc.) High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Analytical skills 5 years experience Caseware experience required Public sector experience required
