Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Surgical Services Job Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Nights 7P-7:30A, 0.9 FTE (12-hour shifts, 3 days a week). Weekend rotation: Every other weekend Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Experience: Minimum one year of applicable experience required; two years preferred License: Registered Nurse (RN) upon hire Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) by either AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross). PALS preferred. Must-Have: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's in Nursing preferred Job Description: - Deliver nursing care responsibly and accountably in accordance with professional standards. - Demonstrate nursing competency through critical thinking, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. - Uphold standards of professional performance, including ethical practices, cultural sensitivity, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, and research. - Provide evidence-based nursing care that aligns with interprofessional plans of care and adhere to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. - Communicate and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity and coordination of care. - Act as a patient and family advocate. - Perform point of care testing as required. - Assess patient and family needs, analyze assessment data, and identify potential diagnoses or issues. - Develop individualized care plans and implement strategies to achieve identified outcomes, adhering to standards of practice. - Evaluate educational needs of patients and families, employing appropriate teaching strategies and monitoring progress toward goals. - Initiate patient discharge planning from initial contact and facilitate efficient transitions to the next service point or home. - Ensure accurate and timely completion of required documentation. - Assume leadership roles and delegate appropriately to support safe and cost-effective patient care. - Engage in professional development and self-evaluation to advance nursing practice competence. - Participate in ongoing improvement activities contributing to quality patient care. - Uniform/Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue Note: The job description is subject to additional roles and responsibilities as per organizational needs.
