Job Description Job Description Civil Engineer The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on construction projects supporting our Transportation group. Most of the project work would be construction management as an owner representative for clients such as IDOT, the Illinois Tollway and CDOT. There will also be project work opportunities for alternate delivery construction management managing civil site construction elements on larger projects. Transportation projects could include rural roadway, expressways and bridges. Civil site work could include power plants, substations and a multitude of facility work. Function as an extension of the owner (IDOT). On site owners field representative. Observe and document on site construction work of a third party contractor. Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program IS Required. Must have a minimum 3 years of civil engineering experience listed on resume (consulting preferred). Relevant exp can't be below 3 years and internship experience does NOT count. Ideal civil engineering experience is 4-8 years. OR Bachelor Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program AND successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam IS REQUIRED. Must have a minimum 3 years of civil engineering experience listed on resume (consulting preferred). Relevant exp can't be below 3 years and internship experience does NOT count. Ideal civil engineering experience is 4-8 years. OR Master Degree in Civil Engineering IS REQUIRED AND 2 years of civil engineering experience listed on resume (consulting preferred). Required: Strong knowledge in standard civil engineering techniques and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills. Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) Strong computer skills (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD), and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, civil analysis programs. Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills. Engineers in Training-EIT Certification Preferred.
