If you’re a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to transport and logistics operations, this role is perfect for you General Description : The Transport & Logistics Manager will oversee both strategic and day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient use of company resources. You will manage the dispatch and returns process, maintain a safe working environment, and liaise across departments like Technical Operations, Inventory, and Project Management to meet the transport and delivery needs of the business. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining our fleet, ensuring compliance, and leading a team to meet key performance indicator Key Responsibilities Project Coordination : Collaborate with the Projects Team to ensure transportation needs are planned and executed effectively Team Leadership : Lead, motivate, and manage the Transport and Logistics team, ensuring they meet KPIs Logistics Operations : Oversee the dispatch and returns process, ensuring efficient turnaround of returned equipment for hire stock Compliance & Regulations : Ensure compliance with vehicle operator regulations, industry standards, and safety procedures Communication: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, external transport providers, and haulage companies Cost Efficiency : Analyze transport operations and recommend cost-saving solutions Fleet Manageme nt: Oversee the maintenance of the company fleet, ensuring vehicles and drivers are compliant Team Development : Mentor, coach, and train logistics staff to help them grow within their rol Operational Excellence : Continuously improve systems, procedures, and workflows to maintain a high standard of service Person Specification Leadership & Organizational Skills: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team Commercial Mind set: Ability to apply a strong commercial mindset when making decisions ons.Strategic Problem Sol ver: A hands-on approach to problem-solving with strong strategic thinking Attention to Det ail: Excellent organizational, administration, and numeracy skills Communicat ion: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Health & Safety Knowle dge: In-depth understanding of Health & Safety regulations and best practices IT Compete nce: Proficient in IT systems and software High Standa rds: Ability to maintain high standards of delivery under pressure and tight deadlines Continuous Improvem ent: A track record of driving operational excellence and continuous improvement What We Offer Competitive salary & benefits Opportunity to lead and shape a growing team A collaborative work environment that values initiative and strategic thinking.
