Job Description
Job Title: Field Service Engineer Location: Suffolk/Norfolk Working Hours: 45 hours per week, 07:00 – 16:00 (Monday to Friday) Role Overview: We are seeking two experienced Field Service Engineers to join our growing team, covering the Suffolk and Norfolk area. The ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of field service experience within the plant industry and possess extensive hands-on experience working with large excavators, dump trucks, and wheel loaders. A Level 3 qualification in plant maintenance is essential, and experience with OEMs or dealerships is preferred, though we are open to considering candidates with other backgrounds. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Maintenance : Service, maintain, and repair heavy plant machinery, including excavators, wheel loaders, dump trucks, and other related equipment. Diagnostic Fault-Finding : Diagnose and repair faults across electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Customer Support : Provide on-site support to clients, ensuring machinery operates efficiently and minimizing downtime. Compliance : Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations and industry standards, maintaining a high level of health and safety on-site. Equipment Inspection : Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce breakdowns. Documentation : Complete service reports, job sheets, and accurate records for future reference. Team Collaboration : Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and drive continuous improvement in service offerings. Person Specification: Full Driving License : A clean and valid driver’s license, as the role involves travel to various client sites. OEM/Dealership Experience : Previous experience with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) or dealerships is highly desirable. Technical Expertise : Proven hands-on experience with large plant machinery, including excavators, dump trucks, and wheel loaders. Attention to Detail : Strong focus on following procedures and maintaining high standards of work. Communication Skills : Excellent communication with both clients and colleagues. Self-Motivated : Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Safety Focused : Strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Adaptability : Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques within the plant machinery industry. Salary & Benefits: Hourly Rate : £22-£23 per hour (reviewed annually in June). Overtime : Time and a half for Saturday overtime. Holiday : 29 days plus statutory holidays (7 days reserved for a two-week shutdown at Christmas). Pension : 3% contribution. Fuel Card : Provided. Paid Door-to-Door : Travel time is fully compensated. Overtime Opportunities : Regular opportunities for additional Saturday overtime.
