Job Description

Rutherford Cross is working with a high-growth business to appoint a Payroll Supervisor. The company is looking for a skilled professional to take charge of payroll processing and auto-enrolment, ensuring everything is accurate, timely, and compliant with the latest HMRC regulations. The individual will play a vital role in delivering an outstanding payroll service to the Group, processing both weekly and monthly payrolls while keeping things efficient and streamlined. Key Responsibilities: Accurate Payroll Processing: Ensure weekly wages and monthly salaries are paid on time and in full compliance with payroll deadlines, including auto-enrolment deadlines Comprehensive Payroll Administration: Oversee all payroll elements such as Tax and NI calculations, statutory payments (maternity, paternity, adoption, sickness), student loans, deductions, and benefits (taxable and non-taxable) Internal Audits: Regularly conduct internal audits and system checks to ensure payroll is accurate and compliant Joiners, Leavers & Changes: Efficiently process joiners, leavers, and any changes to employee details Collaboration with HR: Work closely with HR to ensure employee data is accurate and up-to-date Compliance with GDPR: Handle employee data with the utmost care, ensuring full compliance with GDPR regulations Pension Administration: File pension contribution files to relevant schemes, ensuring full compliance Year-End Processes: Manage the year-end process (including P60s) with precision and attention to detail Support and Guidance: Be the go-to expert for Line Managers and employees when it comes to explaining payroll calculations, deductions, and resolving any payroll-related queries Advisory Role: Advise the Company on updates to UK payroll tax rules and the implications of employee benefits on payroll. Prepare P11D submissions accordingly Data and Reporting: Assist with the collation of payroll data, preparing detailed and accurate reports as needed Payroll Sign-Off: Ensure that payroll is signed off in line with required regulations, meeting compliance standards and deadlines Team Support: Provide mentorship and support to the Payroll/Accounts Assistant, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment Tech-Savvy: Leverage your excellent Excel skills and ideally, previous experience with Iris Earnie payroll software, to streamline payroll processes and reports Our client is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status or pregnancy and maternity.
