Job Description

Today, as a part of the sector leader CDS Groupe, we support 500k business users making thousands of bookings a day. We are seeking a Database Engineer who is keen on working within a product development team, has a background in system and integration analysis, and is ready to take on a dynamic career opportunity by driving requirements analysis, resolving system issues, and enhancing product functionalities What you will be doing: Assist in the database development, maintenance, and implementation of Microsoft SQL Server databases. Perform database operations such as backup, restore, maintenance availability groups. Keep hands on databases replication process. Create and manage database objects, including indexes, to optimize database performance. Utilize PowerShell for scripting and automation tasks. Configure SQL Server settings, including DbMail, SQL Server Agent jobs, alerts, alert notifications, and operators for alert notifications. Manage Linked Servers and have a general understanding of SQL Server replication. Implement SQL Server security principles, including user accounts, schemas, Windows user groups, SQL and integrated logins and Azure credentials. Utilize diagnostic tools such as SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, and SQL Server logs to monitor and troubleshoot issues. Employ analytical skills to resolve production problems efficiently. Maintain composure and resilience in high-stress situations, especially during production issues. What we're looking for: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Solid understanding of T-SQL and the ability to create and optimize database objects. Knowledge of normalization, indexing strategies, and constraints. Understanding server roles, collation settings, and configuration best practices. Implementing and managing backup strategies (Full, Differential, Transaction Log). Knowledge of index tuning, execution plan analysis, query optimization. Knowledge of auditing, encryption, and data masking. Experience with PowerShell scripting. Ability to configure SQL Server, including DbMail, SQL Server Agent jobs, alerts, and notifications. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools like SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, and analyzing SQL Server logs. Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments. Experience with GIT. Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Azure) and storage services within these environments. Familiarity with SQL Server Database Project. Familiarity with SQL Server Service Broker. Microsoft certifications related to SQL Server or database management (e.g., MTA, MCSA) are a plus. English B2.
