Rosemallow Technologies - Linux System Engineer - IAC Terraform

Role Overview : We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Linux Systems Engineer with a strong focus on automation and networking. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our critical Linux-based infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in Ansible, networking, and scripting to automate system tasks, ensure high availability, and enhance security. You will also be instrumental in monitoring system performance and proactively addressing potential issues. Key Responsibilities : Linux System Administration : - Manage and maintain complex Linux server environments, ensuring optimal performance and stability. - Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues, providing timely and effective solutions. - Perform system upgrades, patches, and security hardening. Automation with Ansible : - Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for automating system configuration, deployment, and management. - Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) principles to ensure consistency and repeatability. - Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. Networking : - Design, configure, and manage network infrastructure, including TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, routing, and load balancers. - Implement and maintain network security measures to protect critical systems and data. - Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues. Scripting : - Develop and maintain scripts in Bash, Python, or other scripting languages for system automation and monitoring. - Use scripting to automate tasks, generate reports, and analyze system data. Monitoring and Alerting : - Configure and maintain monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus to ensure system health and performance. - Develop and implement alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and address potential issues. - Analyze monitoring data to identify trends and optimize system performance. Security : - Implement and enforce Linux security best practices. - Configure and manage firewalls and intrusion detection systems. - Perform security audits and vulnerability assessments. Cloud and Virtualization (Preferred) : - Contribute to the design and management of cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP (if applicable). - Manage virtualized environments using VMware or Kubernetes (if applicable). - Integrate cloud based and on prem solutions. Required Skills : Experience : - Minimum 6 years of experience in Linux system administration. Technical Skills : - Strong expertise in managing Linux-based environments. - Hands-on experience in writing Ansible playbooks, roles, and automating system tasks. - Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, routing, load balancers, and network security. - Proficiency in Bash, Python, or other scripting languages. - Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus. - Knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection, and Linux security best practices. Preferred Skills : - Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Kubernetes.
