Civils Quantity surveyor

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Civils/Groundworks)Location: Basildon, EssexSalary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)Job Type: Full-time, PermanentAbout the Role:Our client, a leading company in the construction industry, is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Basildon, Essex. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civils or Groundworks, with excellent technical knowledge and experience in managing the financial aspects of construction projects. This role offers a competitive salary between £60k and £70k depending on the level of experience.Key Responsibilities:Managing all aspects of the cost management process, from initial cost estimates through to final account settlements.Preparing and reviewing tender documents, contracts, and variations.Conducting site visits to assess project progress and ensuring cost-effective solutions.Preparing and submitting interim valuations and final accounts.Monitoring project budgets, providing cost forecasts, and advising on cost control measures.Engaging with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.Identifying potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.Collaborating with other team members to resolve any contractual or financial issues.Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.Requirements:Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on Civils or Groundworks projects.Strong knowledge of construction processes, costs, and materials.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with clients and colleagues.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (e.g., RICS accredited degree, HNC/HND in Construction, etc.) is desirable.Experience with industry-standard software such as CostX, Sage, or similar.A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Benefits:Competitive salary of £60,000 - £70,000, depending on experience.Opportunity to work on high-profile projects in the civils and groundworks sectors.A collaborative, supportive work environment.Ongoing career development and training opportunities.Flexible working arrangements (where applicable).How to Apply:If you are a motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to join a growing and dynamic team in Basildon, Essex, we want to hear from you Please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
