Machine Shop / Standards Room Inspector Location: Motherwell Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Employment Type: Permanent Hours: Dayshift pattern (Monday to Thursday) Escape Recruitment is working with a leading manufacturing business in Motherwell to appoint a Machine Shop Inspector to join their Quality team. What You’ll Be Doing: Inspecting machine shop components and materials. Calibrating precision measuring equipment in line with QMS and ISO requirements. Maintaining accurate calibration and inspection records. Managing inspection materials stock and raising purchase orders. Using specialist inspection equipment Investigating quality issues and liaising with Quality Engineers and the Engineering department. Making clear decisions on accept/reject criteria and raising SAP documentation Supporting other inspection areas when needed. What You’ll Bring: Time-served background in mechanical engineering . Recognised qualification such as City & Guilds or Mechanical Engineering Technician. Strong understanding of machine shop products and inspection techniques. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use tools like micrometers and verniers. Experience with SAP and PC systems would be an advantage. Flexible, self-motivated and confident in making decisions.
