Working within the Strategy, Performance, and Data team, this role includes supporting the provision of data and information across the organisation through research, data collection, analysis and reporting to fulfil requests from service users, to inform decision making, and to support delivery of The Plan for North Lanarkshire. This includes the use of technology to analyse data and present the findings in a meaningful and easy to read way (e.g. graphs, charts, tables, web pages, and reports) for various audiences both within the council and in the public domain. This will include using Excel, Word, Power BI, MS Forms, MS Lists, and spatial mapping tools for which the successful applicant will undergo ongoing training, development, and mentoring in their use. To succeed in this role, you will enjoy problem solving, be inquisitive and have a passion for understanding how data can help us achieve the goals of the organisation. As part of this 18-month modern apprenticeship you’ll undertake an SCQF Level 8/SVQ Level 4 in Digital Applications (Data Analytics). This Apprenticeship would appeal to anyone who is interested in working in and pursuing a career in digital/IT with a focus on data analytics. What do I need? We do look for you to have a desire to learn and develop your own digital and analytical skills, as well as be enthusiastic, organised and methodical in your approach to using systems. You’ll need at least English and Maths at Higher Grade at band A-C, and ideally have an IT/Computing/Graphics related subject too. We’re also looking for Apprentices who can help us deliver our exciting ambition and plans for North Lanarkshire. During the selection process we’ll look for you to demonstrate the key strengths we know you’ll need to be successful; ambition, determination, adaptability, personality, ownership, be pro-active and show willingness to learn. In accordance with Government Guidelines, you’ll need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship) or if you are disabled or care experienced, you’ll need to be aged between 16-29 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship).
