This is an exciting opportunity for a VAT Manager to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, work on complex indirect tax matters, and contribute to the firm's continued growth. The Role: As a VAT Manager , you will be responsible for delivering high-quality VAT advisory and compliance services to a range of clients, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs, multinational corporations, and non-profits . You will also play a key role in business development , client relationship management, and supporting the wider tax team. Key Responsibilities: ? Provide strategic VAT advice on domestic and international transactions, including cross-border VAT issues, land and property VAT, partial exemption, and sector-specific VAT matters.? Oversee and review VAT compliance processes, ensuring accuracy in VAT returns, reconciliations, and HMRC submissions.? Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, delivering proactive VAT solutions and ensuring strong client relationships.? Support and lead VAT investigations, disputes, and HMRC negotiations , ensuring the best outcomes for clients.? Stay ahead of VAT legislation changes and provide technical updates to clients and internal teams.? Work closely with partners and senior leadership to drive business development initiatives and expand the firm's VAT service offering.? Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence. What We're Looking For: ?? Strong technical VAT knowledge , with experience in advisory and compliance.?? Proven ability to manage a diverse client portfolio , including UK and international businesses.?? Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex VAT issues into clear client advice.?? Previous experience in an accountancy practice or VAT-specialist role.??
