Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) - Orthopedics/Neuro/Oncology Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 19:00-07:00 Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: RN License Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification for neuro assessments Must-Have: - Chemo certification - Chest tube management skills Job Description: - Work in a unit with 30 beds and a staff of 59. - Night shifts include 1 Charge Nurse, 3-4 techs, and 5-6 nurses. - Handle a patient ratio of 5-6. - Utilize equipment such as transfer sliding boards, Hoyer lifts, C-collars, post-op shoes, and JP drains. - Use Meditech and Airstrip EMR systems. - Perform wound care, post-op total knee/hip care, and manage central lines, Foley catheters, and drains. - Administer chemotherapy for certified chemo nurses. - Demonstrate compassion, positivity, accountability, integrity, initiative, and flexibility. - Work as a team player and be solution-driven. - May float to different areas including Med-surg, rehab, and Telemetry. - Follow a schedule that includes four 12-hour weekend shift requirements per schedule, with potential weekend call-ins to be made up. - Adhere to professional dress code standards in navy blue scrubs. - Read and sign unit standards of care prior to starting the contract.
