Learning Support Assistant – Year 3 (Autism) | Primary School in Wood Green Are you a passionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with experience working with children with Autism and additional needs? Milk Education is seeking a dedicated and patient LSA to support a Year 3 pupil in a mainstream primary school in Wood Green. This is a full-time role, providing 1:1 support to help the child access learning, develop social skills, and feel confident within the classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Autism, strong behaviour management skills, and a calm, nurturing approach. The Role: ✔ Provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 child with Autism, helping them engage in learning and develop social skills ✔ Assist with communication strategies (PECS, Makaton, or other relevant methods) ✔ Use differentiated approaches to ensure the pupil’s needs are met within the mainstream classroom ✔ Support the child in managing emotions and sensory needs using structured routines and calming strategies ✔ Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets and individual learning plans ✔ Encourage positive interactions with peers and promote inclusion within the school community What We’re Looking For: ✅ Previous experience working with children with Autism or additional learning needs (essential) ✅ Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or other communication strategies (desirable) ✅ A patient, calm, and proactive approach to supporting children with SEN ✅ Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to use de-escalation strategies when needed ✅ Ability to work closely with school staff, parents, and external professionals to support the child’s progress Why choose Milk Education?
