Job Description

Eden Scott is delighted to be supporting our client in the recruitment of a Portfolio Administrator to join a newly established team based in Edinburgh. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with either an accountancy degree or relevant work experience, particularly up to trial balance, who has a solid understanding of portfolio administration and financial statements. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills, and a good grasp of accounting principles, including debits and credits. You'll play a key role in ensuring the accurate processing and reconciliation of investment portfolio statements, and will contribute to the team's wider objectives by supporting reporting and data management tasks. Key Responsibilities: Reviewing, validating, and processing investment portfolio statements to ensure accuracy and completeness. Reconciling transactions, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring that all financial records are accurate and up to date. Applying accounting knowledge to maintain accurate ledger entries, working up to trial balance. Performing financial data entry tasks and assisting with the preparation of financial reports. Supporting colleagues with administrative and analytical tasks related to portfolio management. Maintaining a high level of accuracy while working with manual data and ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and standards. Person Specification: Degree in accountancy, finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience with exposure to trial balance accounting. Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and work with complex financial data. Previous experience in financial services or investment portfolio administration is highly desirable. Comfortable working with high volumes of manual data and ensuring meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems would be advantageous. Excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Location: This role is based in Edinburgh, and only applicants based in Scotland will be considered due to the location of the role.
