Wholesale Manager - East London

Location: East London, South Africa Industry: Retail & Wholesale Fruit & Veg Job Purpose: Our Client is looking for a reliable and customer-focused Wholesale Manager to manage and grow the wholesale side of their Fruit & Veg store in East London. This role is ideal for someone with experience in fresh produce , who enjoys working with clients, managing bulk orders, and ensuring a smooth day-to-day process for wholesale customers. You will be the key point of contact for their wholesale clients, ensuring that they receive the right products, in the right quantities, on time. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain relationships with wholesale clients (e.g. small retailers, caterers, food businesses) Take and process bulk orders accurately and efficiently Ensure all wholesale orders are packed correctly and ready for collection or delivery Assist with stock availability checks and communicate any shortages or substitutions Ensure pricing and quantities are correctly captured for invoicing Coordinate closely with the store team and dispatch to fulfill wholesale needs Maintain regular communication with clients regarding availability, specials, and seasonal produce Assist with growing the wholesale customer base and improving client satisfaction Handle client queries and resolve minor complaints professionally and promptly Maintain a clean and organized wholesale order area Requirements: Minimum 23 years of experience in a retail or wholesale environment, preferably in fruit & veg Understanding of basic produce quality standards and bulk order handling Friendly, confident, and customer servicedriven personality Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Good attention to detail and ability to handle fast-paced environments Willing to work early mornings, retail hours, weekends, and public holidays as needed Reliable, organized, and a strong team player Key Competencies: Strong interpersonal and client-handling skills Time management and order accuracy Basic knowledge of fresh produce and wholesale pricing Problem-solving and flexibility Positive attitude and team-driven mindset Remuneration: Market-related salary, based on experience and performance.
