Interim Vice-Principal (People & Student Wellbeing), University of the West of Scotland Location - Paisley Campus base with travel to other locations as required Salary - £133,751 - £155,022 Full-time - 9 months fixed-term contract (maternity cover) University of the West of Scotland’s purpose is to be a placemaker with its communities, driving social inclusion and reducing inequalities through education, research, and knowledge exchange. With a national and an international reach: the University has four campuses in Scotland in Ayr, Dumfries, Lanarkshire and Paisley, as well as a campus in London Docklands. UWS Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor James Miller seeks an outstanding individual to join his Executive Team for a 9-month period while the current postholder is on maternity leave. As a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive, the post holder will contribute to leadership and collective responsibility for the strategic direction of the University. Undertaking appropriate horizon-scanning to ensure a greater understanding of the political and economic environment as well as developments in the higher education sector in Scotland, the UK and internationally, assessing their implications and advising on appropriate plans and actions. We are seeking an experienced HR leader who has operated at an executive director level to join our ambitious and driven executive team.You will utilise your commercial thinking and share your experience of best practice and innovative thinking to lead a culture of high performance. You will have operated within a complex unionised environment.
