Junior Electrical/Mechanical Technician

Our client, an established company operating in the agricultural sector , is looking for a Junior Electrical/Mechanical Technician to join their team based in Wellington . The incumbent will report to the General Manager and be responsible for: Installing, maintaining and repairing of electrical and mechanical equipment Reporting on technical issues and general feedback to management Performing factory acceptance testing of new equipment Actively involved in research and development projects Implementing world class manufacturing principals All other duties related to the position. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: Millwright/Electrical qualification; Approximately 2 years relevant experience in a mechanical/electrical repairs and installations environment; Sound electrical knowledge with regard to fault finding, 3 phase circuits and VFDs; Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams; Good report writing capabilities; Valid drivers license and own reliable transport; Willingness to work extended hours in peak seasons; and travel regularly within South Africa and abroad. Advantageous: Red seal certification; PLC experience; Forklift and plant equipment license; Knowledge of the agricultural industry.
