Job Description
Main purpose of the job: Intervention to optimise adolescent BMI pre- conception to address the double burden of malnutrition, draw blood samples, HIV testing and counselling, participant management and referral, and assist with data collection and management Location: NCDRD - Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Soweto - Johannesburg Key performance areas: Liaising with clinic staff and research team for efficient data collection Maintaining a good working relationship with local clinic staff To do study related duties as specified by the protocol Ensuring adherence to study specific standard operating procedures Review clinical data and complete the case report forms Communicate routinely with the study coordinator and principal investigator Do proper filing of results and any other study related documents in the relevant assigned place Ensure that study materials (printing of CRFs, etc.) are always available on site Assist research team with tasks as needed Assist with phlebotomy where required Ensure that blood specimens are taken to the laboratory timeously Ensure that laboratory results are signed by the medical officer and filed correctly Ensure that all participants have informed consent forms and have completed them Required minimum education and training: Matric Qualified as an Enrolled Nurse Good Clinical Practice Certificate (GCP) will be added advantage Drivers Licence and able to drive manual vehicle Required minimum work experience: 1 2 Years experience as an Enrolled Nurse in a clinical environment Research experience will be an added advantage May be required to work on Saturdays as well Professional body registration: Registered with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities: Good Clinical Practice/Human Subject Protection certification advantageous Ability to lead and work independently as well as be part of a multidisciplinary team Flexibility to adapt to changes in study requirements Empathetic towards people living with HIV/AIDS Ability to speak local languages Computer literacy Willingness to learn It is expected that s/he will apply consistent adherence to research and GCP practices TO APPLY: Only if you meet the minimum job requirements and experience as mentioned above, you may submit a detailed updated CV Please Apply Online and complete your registration via our website to enable and protect you as a candidate, and to accept the new POPIA terms and conditions This will then create your permanent profile with which you can apply for all jobs as advertised by AJ PERSONNEL However, you may remove your profile from AJ PERSONNEL when you are no longer in the job market Please take note that the applicants who do not adhere to the above criteria will not be considered for the respective position Wits Health Consortium will only respond to shortlisted candidates Candidates who have not been contacted within two weeks of the closing date can consider their applications to be unsuccessful Closing date: 03 April 2025 Note: No CV will be accepted after the closing date Please note: WHC, in accordance with its Employment Equity goals and plan, will give preference to suitable applicants from designated groups as defined in the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998 and subsequent amendments thereto AJ Personnel is only responsible for advertising and the response handling on behalf of their client Wits Health Consortium AJ Personnel does not have any salary or other information regarding the position
