Infrastructure Technician

IBITS Internet, a leading Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the Paarl/Wellington area, is looking for experienced Infrastructure Technicians to join our team. This role involves working on high sites, rooftop installations, and various equipment rooms in our network, handling installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance . If you have hands-on experience with MikroTik, Ubiquiti, Siklu, or similar equipment , as well as knowledge of backup power systems for telecommunications infrastructure, wed love to hear from you Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including high-site and rooftop equipment. Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on wireless and fibre infrastructure. Work with MikroTik, Ubiquiti, Siklu, and similar networking gear to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve network and connectivity issues efficiently. Conduct site assessments and assist in network expansions. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot backup power systems , including batteries, inverters, and generators , to ensure uninterrupted connectivity. Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations and quality standards . Collaborate with the network operations and engineering teams to improve infrastructure reliability. Candidate Requirements: Experience: 2 years in network infrastructure installation and maintenance . Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of MikroTik, Ubiquiti, Siklu, and similar networking equipment . Experience with wireless, fibre, and networking technologies . Familiarity with backup power systems for telecom infrastructure (batteries, inverters, solar, and generators). Ability to diagnose and resolve network and power-related issues efficiently. Certifications (Must-Have): MikroTik Certification (MTCNA, MTCRE, or higher) OR Cisco Certification (CCNA or higher) . Other Requirements: Comfortable working at heights (on towers, rooftops, and high sites). Valid South African drivers license and own transport. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Willingness to work flexible hours , including occasional after-hours maintenance and emergency call-outs. Why Join IBITS Internet?
