Accounts Payable Clerk

Accounts Payable Clerk Location: North Haven, CT Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of accounts payable experience in a manufacturing environment and be familiar with purchase price variance concepts . This role involves processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and managing vendor relationships to ensure smooth financial operations. Key Responsibilities: Invoice Processing: Verify and process invoices using 3-way matching . Payment Preparation: Ensure timely check issuance to avoid late fees. Reconciliation: Handle accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies. Vendor Management: Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and disputes. Expense Reports: Process employee expense reports per company policy. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records and vendor databases. Reporting: Generate and review AP reports, including aging and unvouched reports. Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial policies and regulatory requirements. 1099 Processing: Maintain and issue vendor 1099s. Collaboration: Work closely with the Purchasing team to resolve vendor issues. Qualifications: Education: BA/BS degree preferred (or equivalent work experience). Experience: Minimum 3 years of accounts payable experience ; manufacturing experience preferred. Technical Skills: ERP system experience (Epicor is a plus). Proficiency in MS Excel (including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables) . Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar). Basic knowledge of Sales and Use Tax . Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
