Responsibilities
The Senior Director, Marketing Strategy is responsible for leading the organization’s Marketing team which consists of digital, brand and content marketing. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive digital and content marketing strategies across all channels, driving business growth through key digital and content initiatives while overseeing a team of digital marketing professionals and content strategists. Key areas of focus include leadership, development, and execution of strategic marketing communications to a variety of audiences to ensure continuity and best-in-class marketing practices and processes. The Sr. Director will partner and align with enterprise functions, including Clinical, Operations, Business Development, Legal, Human Resources and Support Service functions to design and deliver marketing communication programs that are integrated with business strategies and objectives. This position reports to the Vice President of Marketing, Communications, Creative and Events (MCCE).
The successful candidate will be a proven people leader and self-starter to focus on building the capabilities and processes of the team, ensuring effective resources are in place and forging strong relationships with key stakeholders. They will collaborate with the team to identify stakeholder needs throughout the organization, execute plans, and manage content strategy, offer consulting and advice on marketing communications, socialize performance and exhibit a thorough comprehension of relevant digital resources and systems.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement a holistic digital marketing strategy aligned with business objectives, including goals for website traffic, testing strategies, lead generation and brand awareness across various digital channels (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, paid advertising).
- Define the overall content strategy, including value story, target audience, content pillars, key messaging, content formats, distribution channels, and alignment with business objectives.
- Oversee the publishing/promotion/amplification plan of all SCA Health marketing communications and work with Creative team to develop content tailored to the specific medium and audience requirements, such as social, video, website and value story materials.
- Oversee and evaluate key vendor relationships to ensure best in class performance and outcomes.
- Partner with Communications team leadership to ensure consistency in our messaging across internal and external audiences
- Drive innovation in marketing approaches and content delivery methods to engage diverse audiences effectively.
- Manage review/revision/approval processes & workflow to ensure achievement of marketing and business goals/objectives
- Continuously assess, refine and optimize marketing strategies based on feedback, outcomes, and industry trends.
- Provide guidance and leadership to SCA Health executive team, share marketing knowledge, performance and expertise with partners
- Provide leadership to the Marketing Strategy team to foster professional growth and development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred.
- 15 years of progressive responsibility with Marketing Communications
- 7+ years of direct People Management experience required
- Demonstrated experience working with Communications teams (Internal & External Comms) to achieve desired outcomes
- Serves as a strategic partner to line of business leadership; brings gravitas in successfully working with strong executive leaders with a distinctive point of view; mature, can push back appropriately and manage expectations.
- Demonstrates superior intellectual capacity, problem-solving and sound judgment to lead in a changing environment; comfortable working in a complex, highly-matrixed organization.
- Ability to effectively lead, supervise, coach, mentor and develop staff in ways that strengthen team effectiveness and efficiencies.
- Team player with a strong growth mindset, positive, can-do attitude; able to roll up sleeves as well as operate at strategic level.
