Senior Accountant

Our client, an accounting firm dedicated to meeting the increasing demand for specialised accounting, tax, and compliance services, particularly within the private business and trust industry , has a position available for a Senior Accountant to join their team, based in Paarl. The Senior Accountant will manage all client relationships, deadlines, and oversee team members to ensure smooth financial controls and compliance. The incumbent will handle a portfolio of clients, with services such as income tax compliance, payroll, cash management, and basic data capturing provided by the team. The role involves managing client deliverables, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with financial statement preparation. Advanced accounting knowledge and strong analytical skills are essential to this role. Key responsibilities include: Financial Reporting General Ledger Management Month-End/Year-End Closing Budgeting and Forecasting Internal Controls Tax Compliance Team Leadership and Mentoring Cash Flow Management Ad hoc Financial Analysis. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; 3-5 years of accounting experience with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices; Advanced computer literacy (MS Office - specifically Excel, Xero); Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
