Additionally, you will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of AML solutions, engage with dynamic cross-functional teams, and work with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, ensuring you stay at the forefront of industry trends and innovation Job Purpose The Product Owner will lead product management and vision, ensuring alignment with internal and external regulatory requirements, specifically AML (Anti-Money Laundering) compliance. This role requires strategic collaboration with stakeholders, risk, and compliance teams to deliver AML-compliant solutions while driving innovation and efficiency. The Product Owner is responsible for setting, prioritizing, and evaluating the product backlog within a Scrum framework, ensuring the development and implementation of AML controls, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting capabilities. The role also acts as a bridge between business, compliance, and technology teams to ensure that AML requirements are effectively translated into product features and functionality Job Responsibilities Product Backlog Management: Define and prioritize the product backlog with focus on AML. Collaborate with stakeholders to refine AML-related backlog items, ensuring risk and compliance needs are addressed. Ensure the backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all. Stakeholder Engagement: Align AML features with regulatory expectations and business needs. Monitor project progress and engage with compliance, risk, and regulatory teams. Facilitate communication between technology teams and compliance officers to ensure AML controls are integrated seamlessly. Development Team Collaboration: Work closely with the development team to ensure they understand the backlog items. Balance risk mitigation with customer experience to create seamless compliance solutions. Ensure the development team delivers features that meet the defined requirements. Value Delivery: Ensure that the product features delivered provide value to the end customers, both external and internal. For example, ensuring that newly implemented systems are user-friendly for internal customers like bankers. Strategic Planning: Manage and align the product roadmap with the company's three-year planning. Job Responsibilities Continue Manage the scope and move through iterations. Assist the Scrum Master to organize Sprint Review Meetings. Take lead of Scrum teams as the Product Owner. Provide guidance in mitigating impediments impacting the completion of Release/Sprint Goals. Develop and maintain a prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation. Write user stories and create detailed specifications for product features. Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally. Develop product pricing and positioning strategies. Lead the planning of product release plans and set expectations for new functionalities. Provide insights into user test cases and arrange product testing groups. Define feature acceptance criteria and manage the user acceptance testing process. Drive product launch and maintain product awareness among product teams. Incorporate feature requests into the product roadmap. Plan releases and upgrades, and review solution design plans. Declare the business priority of every user story and manage development teams to deliver innovative solutions. Follow progress of work and address production issues during sprints. Ensure the team focuses on behavior and outcomes that drive customer value. Communicate business requirements to the team and work with key stakeholders for successful product releases. Analyze preferences and requests of end users and refine agile methodology based on feedback. Represent customer needs and priorities to the team and assess value to prioritize stories, epics, and themes. Facilitate demos and customer feedback sessions, conduct sprint planning, and resource estimation. Participate in promotion plan development and provide vision and direction to the Agile development team. Coordinate with other Agile team leaders and provide status updates to business leadership. Research and analyze market trends, users, and the product roadmap. Support the achievement of business strategy, objectives, and values. Stay abreast of developments in the field of expertise and seek opportunities to improve business processes. Essential Qualifications - NQF Level Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees Preferred Qualification BSC Computer science BCom Information Technology OR Preferred Qualification: Product Owner Training/Course (Formal or Informal) Minimum Experience Level Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner within a Business Analysis (BA) environment. Proven experience in AML risk management, compliance, or financial crime prevention. Proven experience working in an Agile environment. Strong understanding of Agile methodologies. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work effectively between technical and business teams. Tools: Experience with AML compliance tools such as Actimize, SAS, or similar. Familiarity with Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, and Trello. Understanding of financial services regulations and compliance frameworks. Knowledge of KYC, CDD, transaction monitoring, and fraud detection methodologies. Technical / Professional Knowledge Awareness of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Knowledge of specific technology Business Acumen Company/Division/Cluster/Business Unit specific business knowledge Internal Business Products and Processes Business analysis User stories Multiple IT products Product design Specific IT products knowledge
