Job Description

Prepare and review financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring compliance with regulations and client expectations Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identify trends, and present key insights to senior leadership and clients Assist in developing and reviewing client budgets and forecasts to align with financial targets and strategic objectives Prepare corporate, individual, and partnership tax returns while ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations Advise clients on tax planning strategies to optimize financial performance and minimize liabilities Stay informed about tax law changes and provide guidance to ensure ongoing compliance Foster strong client relationships by delivering exceptional service and acting as the primary contact for financial and accounting matters Conduct regular meetings with clients to assess needs, provide strategic advice, and ensure satisfaction with services Communicate complex financial concepts clearly, helping clients make informed business decisions Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting functions Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance Monitor adherence to accounting standards, laws, and industry regulations Perform internal audits, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to junior accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and timely task completion Review junior accountants work and offer constructive feedback to uphold high-quality standards Collaborate with team members to maintain seamless workflow and high performance Offering strategic financial advice on cash flow management, investment planning, and risk mitigation Support clients in financial decision-making, mergers, acquisitions, and business restructuring Conduct business valuations and financial projections as needed Assist with audit preparations by compiling necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Work closely with external auditors to facilitate a smooth and efficient audit process Skills & Experience: Advanced knowledge of IFRS and South African tax laws, including expertise in tax planning, compliance, and handling SARS e-filing for individual, corporate, and VAT returns Minimum of 1-2 years of post-article experience in an accounting firm, with hands-on involvement in financial management, VAT returns, and preparing financial statements using Excel Skilled in accounting software such as Sage, Pastel, and Xero, as well as Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on Excel for financial data analysis and reporting Proven experience in serving a variety of clients, delivering customized accounting services, and ensuring full accuracy and regulatory compliance Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, spot trends, and provide valuable insights to clients Qualification: Completed articles SAIPA/ SAICA Contact Refiloe Mofokeng on 021 418 1750 , quoting the Ref: CTF020564.
