Accountant

Job Description: As the Accountant, your duties and responsibilities include the following: Overseeing accounting functions across multiple entities within the holding company Managing tax returns, payroll processing, intercompany journals, and supporting annual audit preparations Handling general accounting tasks, including verifying and capturing supplier invoices against requisitions and purchase orders Ensuring invoices are VAT-compliant and properly authorized before processing Preparing and processing month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations Analyzing the General Ledger to identify errors and investigate discrepancies Reviewing and approving monthly supplier reconciliations and processing payments accordingly Processing multi-currency bank transactions and performing regular bank reconciliations Managing accounts receivable, tracking aging reports, and resolving overdue balances Preparing, calculating, and submitting statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, Compensation Fund, and SARS audits) Submitting monthly pension fund member data and ensuring salary and contribution reconciliations Overseeing cash flow management and forecasting to avoid potential shortfalls Maintaining the fixed asset register and calculating depreciation Compiling and submitting information needed for the preparation of annual financial statements Completing intercompany transaction reports in accordance with year-end financial reporting requirements Skills & Experience: 5-7 years of Accounting Experience Advanced Excel Skills Proficiency in handling VAT, PAYE and ensuring compliance with regulations Experience with processing multi-currency transactions Excellent cash flow management skills Qualification: Completed Finance or Accounting degree Matric (Grade 12) Contact JENELLE COOKSON on 021 418 1750 , quoting the Ref: CTF020565.
