Diesel Fitter

Our client, based between Paarl and Franschhoek , is seeking a semi-skilled Diesel Fitter to join an already functioning team. The ideal candidate have good communication skills, and will be required to raise and maintain a high standard of plant maintenance. Duties will include (but not be limited to): General maintenance, general wear parts replacement, component maintenance and preventative maintenance Occasionally assist with repairs of major components Conduct services and service related repairs on Earthmoving Equipment Complete service checklists and report defects to Workshop Manager Carry out daily pre-start inspections on plant equipment Maintain a clean and organized work environment by performing regular housekeeping duties Replace tips, liners and other general wear parts Inspect and determine wear severity on pins, bushes, links, hydraulic cylinders, suspension parts, tyres and other related components All other tasks related to this position. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: 3-5 years Trade or Diesel Mechanic experience will be advantageous; Good understanding of operation principles related to earthmoving plant, trucks and forklifts; Knowledge of tool usage and safety standards.
