Hire Resolves client, a well-established accounting firm, is urgently seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join their team in Hermanus, WC. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, audit coordination, and general ledger management while ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulations. They will also analyse financial data, provide strategic recommendations, and mentor junior accountants to maintain efficient financial operations Handle full accounting functions, including transaction processing and reconciliations Prepare Annual Financial Statements using Draftworx or Caseware Manage payroll and ensure statutory deductions are in order Submit income tax returns and manage VAT submissions Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports Liaise with SARS to ensure tax compliance : Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP. Oversee journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing. Assist in financial planning, cost analysis, and cash flow management. Ensure accurate tax filings, VAT submissions, and compliance with local regulations. Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary financial documents. Analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations. Enhance accounting procedures and internal controls for efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with senior management, auditors, and external partners. Mentor and guide junior accountants to ensure adherence to accounting standards. Stay updated with financial laws and corporate governance requirements.
