Pentaho Developer - PL-SQL

Hello Candidates, Profile- PLSQLPentaho Developer Experience- 6-12 yrs JOB DESCRIPTION We are looking for an experienced PL/SQL Developer with expertise in Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining PL/SQL code for database operations, as well as utilizing Pentaho for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data integration. This role is ideal for a developer who can bridge the gap between database development and data integration, working with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable data solutions. Key Responsibilities: PL/SQL Development: - Design, develop, and optimize PL/SQL code (procedures, functions, triggers, and packages) for various database applications. - Create and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting. - Work with database administrators (DBAs) to ensure the optimal performance of PL/SQL code. - Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain PL/SQL code to improve performance and meet business requirements. Pentaho Data Integration (ETL) : - Design, implement, and maintain ETL processes using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI). - Develop robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from different sources into data warehouses or databases. - Optimize Pentaho transformations for performance and scalability. - Automate and schedule data loading processes to ensure timely data availability for reporting and analysis. - Develop and maintain Pentaho Data Integration jobs and transformations to support business data needs. Data Integration and Reporting : - Collaborate with data analysts, business analysts, and other teams to gather data requirements and build data integration solutions. - Develop reporting solutions using Pentaho Reporting, creating dashboards and reports as required. - Design and implement solutions for data warehousing, integrating with other data sources as necessary. - Ensure the quality and integrity of data across systems by implementing validation and error-handling processes in Pentaho and PL/SQL. Database Performance Tuning and Optimization: - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in PL/SQL code and SQL queries. - Tune SQL queries and PL/SQL code to meet the performance requirements for large-scale data sets. - Analyze and optimize Pentaho transformations to handle large volumes of data efficiently. Collaboration and Documentation : - Work with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data scientists, and system architects, to understand data needs and provide technical solutions. - Provide technical guidance to junior developers and assist with code reviews. - Document all developed solutions, including PL/SQL code, Pentaho jobs, and ETL processes, ensuring clear communication of the solution design and implementation. Maintenance and Support : - Monitor and support the ETL and database systems in production, ensuring data processes run smoothly without interruptions. - Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in both Pentaho and PL/SQL code, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations. Required Skills & Qualifications : PL/SQL Development : - Strong experience in writing and optimizing PL/SQL procedures, functions, triggers, and packages. - Proficiency in complex SQL queries, subqueries, and joins for data extraction and manipulation. - Expertise in database design, normalization, and optimization techniques. Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) : - Proven experience in designing and developing ETL processes using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI). - Strong understanding of Pentaho transformations, jobs, and error-handling techniques. - Experience in automating and scheduling data integration workflows using Pentaho. Data Warehousing & Reporting : - Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices, including star and snowflake schemas. - Experience with creating reporting solutions using Pentaho Reporting or other BI tools. Database Platforms : - Strong experience with Oracle databases (preferably), or familiarity with other relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server). - Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques. Tools & Technologies : - Familiarity with version control systems like Git, SVN, or similar. - Experience with data integration and automation tools, preferably in a cloud environment. Problem Solving and Troubleshooting : - Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to solve complex issues in PL/SQL, SQL, and Pentaho jobs. - Ability to resolve performance bottlenecks and optimize both database and ETL processes. Preferred Skills : - Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their respective data services. - Additional BI Tools: Experience with other Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Cognos) is a plus. - Scripting Languages: Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell scripting) for automating data workflows is an advantage. - Agile Methodology: Familiarity with Agile software development processes and tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
