Locum Social Worker Children's Assessment Service Location: Torbay Pay Rate: Up to £40 per hour Additional Support: Up to £150 per week for accommodation or travel Contract: Locum, Full-time Are you an experienced Childrens Social Worker with a strong background in frontline child protection? Torbay is seeking a dedicated Locum Social Worker to join our Children's Assessment Service, where you'll play a crucial role in safeguarding vulnerable children and families. Key Responsibilities: Undertake Section 47 investigations, initial assessments, and risk assessments. Work at the front door of childrens services, responding to new referrals and determining next steps. Develop child-centred plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children. Engage with children, families, and partner agencies to gather and analyse information effectively. Prepare reports for case conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings. Work in line with statutory frameworks and local policies. Requirements: Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration. Previous experience in frontline child protection and children’s assessment services. Strong knowledge of the Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and other key legislation. Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Why Join Us? Competitive pay of up to £40 per hour.
