Who You Are You are a skilled professional with qualifications such as a Diploma in Pest Control with the BPCA or RSPH Level 2 Certificate in Pest Management. You have a robust understanding of pest control practices and relevant legislation in health and safety. Experience in handling various pest control methods, such as traps and pesticides, is essential, along with a proven ability to offer excellent customer service. You possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and are capable of coaching and mentoring others. A driving license is required, and you should be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces. What the Job Involves As a Pest Control Technician, you will conduct inspections, identify infestations, and decide on the most suitable treatments, adhering to BPCA guidelines. You’ll perform surveys to recommend structural repairs for preventing future infestations and carry out proofing work compliant with safety regulations. Your role includes managing the collection and transportation of stray dogs and implementing pigeon control measures. You will safely handle, store, and use pesticides in line with COSHH regulations and ensure your vehicle and tools are properly maintained and secure. Participation in a call-out rota for emergency pest issues and stray dog collection is required. You’ll also use technology to document site visits and operate within various client sites, ensuring compliance with council's equality policies.
