Who You Are You are a customer-focused individual who is eager to start quickly in a temporary role with the potential to transition to a permanent position after 15 weeks, subject to a successful assignment. You possess a continuous improvement mindset and are comfortable interacting with stakeholders at every level within the business. Your communication skills are top-notch, allowing you to explain payroll technical information in plain English. Although sector-specific experience is not required, an appreciation of the public sector's size and practices will be advantageous. What the Job Involves This is a varied role that requires working under tight deadlines. You will be responsible for fielding payroll-related queries, demonstrating technical knowledge in payroll legislation and off systems pay calculations. You will also be involved in payroll reconciliation activities and need to display an organized approach to your work. Collaborating with team members and appropriately escalating any governance or compliance issues are key components of this role, which falls under the Head of Strategic Finance (Improvements, Systems and Transactions).
