On behalf of our Client, we are seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic Senior Accountant to join their highly motivated and talented team, in a permanent full-time capacity. Whilst the Head Office is Ballarat based, the firm does have offices in Melbourne, however some days of the week will need to be based in Ballarat, by negotiation. Fantastic leadership opportunity Highly successful Ballarat firm with Melbourne officeWide variety of industry exposure You Get To Join a Tight-knit Team And Enjoy An attractive & great working conditionsWorking closely with the business partnersYour career aspirations encouraged; full support for further trainingCareer opportunities6 monthly conferences in MelbourneBi-monthly in-house training sessionsQuarterly staff functionsWeekly team meetingMonthly team lunchesWellness programs The Role The role offers exposure to a wide variety of tasks associated with the various accounting and taxation needs of their clients and includes, but is not limited to:Leading a small team to achieve Company driven goals and directives;Exposure to a variety of industries, including medical, professional services, trade, agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, retail and property;Assistance with and responsibility for the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for clients including companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals;Assistance with the preparation of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements;Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax returns and Payroll tax returns. The Candidate To be successful in this role, you will need:At least 5 years prior experience in Accounting with a strong academic track record;Exceptional communication skills and leadership qualities to motivate and engage a small team;A high focus on providing excellent client service;Excellent time management and attention to detail;A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others;A strong work ethic and initiative; andCommitment to further training and professional development. Your Background 5 years' experience in an Accounting practice;Degree qualified and working toward, or preparing to work toward, obtaining CPA status;Ability to identify how to maximise returns for clients and be able to understand deductibility of certain items;Previous exposure to accounting and tax software; strong skills in using MYOB, Xero and Intuit QuickBooks will be highly regarded.
