Senior Analyst

The Security, Emergency and Recovery Management team at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet is seeking a Senior Analyst - Claims and Estimates. This role involves utilising financial and budgetary skills to support claims and quarterly estimates for programs under the Australia Government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), coordinating state and Australian Government claim assurance processes, and following a risk-based approach to reviewing disaster activity claims. Responsibilities include providing strategic financial and policy advice, establishing strong relationships with key department officers, ensuring compliance with timelines and reporting standards, and maintaining a strong understanding of relevant government policies and guidelines. Special Conditions The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program. The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent. This role requires a National Criminal History check. This role requires a Security Clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1). All Security, Emergency and Recovery Management (SERM) staff are required to participate in the State Crisis Centre during exercises and incidents and be on the on-call roster for the State Crisis Centre and State Emergency Centre. Out-of-hours work and interstate travel may be required, and there may be limitations on annual leave during the high risk disaster season.
