Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander - Social and Emotional Wellbeing Clinician Royal Melbourne Hospital Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified role Be part of the growing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce and community of practice at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Assertive outreach in the community and clinic-based work. Full time, Permanent, Rotating Roster. Your New Team: Community Team 1 (CT1) provide care to consumers living in the CBD and the Inner West of Melbourne. Additionally, they hold the homeless portfolio for Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Service (RMH MHS). CT1 applies an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model of care, which is characterized by lower caseloads, community-based treatment (outreach), a team-based approach and high intensity of care. We are seeking a qualified Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Psychologist to join our Social and Emotional Wellbeing workforce. Your new role: Become part of our growing Social Emotional and Wellbeing (SEWB) workforce, providing culturally informed and supportive mental health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers. Apply your discipline-specific mental health experience in the delivery of evidence-based treatment and interventions, ensuring the provision of high-quality assertive outreach and care coordination of services to adults experiencing mental health and AOD issues as well as homelessness. Work with a team of enthusiastic multidisciplined professionals providing assertive outreach and high-quality care to some of Melbourne's most marginalised people. About you: You identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Possess formal qualifications and relevant registration as either a Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Psychologist. You have at least 2 years' experience in clinical mental health, health care or community services. Knowledge of effective evidence-based interventions appropriate to low prevalence disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, personality disorder, relapse prevention and substance abuse. Demonstrate experience in the provision of specialist services in public mental health settings with a strong focus on local communities and inter-agency specific knowledge.
