In this role you will have the opportunity to work from home , having the option of choosing flexible hours and rosters, and the best part is that for this role you can be based anywhere in Australia (including regional/rural areas) As a Mental Health Professional, you will play a key role in providing phone and web-based support to people with various mental health issues. This will involve mental health triage and education, risk assessment, referral to local mental health providers, and crisis intervention for people experiencing emotional distress, general depression and anxiety issues. Training and start dates We provide full-time paid (9.00 am to 5.00 pm NSW time) comprehensive and supportive virtual training with start dates available throughout March. Please note you must be available to complete the full-time training to be considered. After training you will receive ongoing support from our amazing team of Senior clinicians who will guide you in your journey with us. Hours and FTE We can offer part-time (22.5 hrs) to full-time (37.5 hrs) contracts, working shifts between 9.00 am to 10.00 pm NSW local time, Monday to Friday. No nights or weekends This role will be offered as a fixed term contract until 30th June 2026 , with a possibility of extension. Work from home requirements This telephone and online-based role will require you to multitask between listening and supporting callers, typing notes, and referring to clinical resources and online support tools. You need fast reliable internet with a min of 50 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload speeds. About You To be successful in your application for this role you will have: Essential clinical qualification (of minimum 3 years' duration) for this role include: registered nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, or social work . Please note that candidates with a different qualification will not be consider for this role. A minimum of 3 years' recent full-time experience in an acute mental health setting. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of and provide mental health triage, assessment and support services from one or more models of therapeutic intervention including strengths based and bio-psycho-social approaches to mental health and well-being. Willingness to adapt current clinical skills to new models of intervention as required by individual programs. Unrestricted AHPRA registration and/or membership of the respective discipline specific professional association in Australia. Knowledge of common private and public referral and treatment pathways within a stepped model of care provision. This entails either having completed a mental health/abnormal psychology unit/subject as part of university course work, having relevant field experience in mental health or telephone experience in a related field.
