This involves writing and maintaining automation test code, reducing and managing issues in production, and collaborating with various teams to solve challenging business problems. The role aims to empower engineers to deliver faster, and more consistently, plus helping customers manage their finances effectively with secure, stable applications. How You Will Spend Your Time Writing and maintaining code in TypeScript for automation tests, using Playwright Ensuring all code is well-tested and secure. Using modern testing frameworks. Creating and adopting new ways of working, new coding practices and standards.Supporting the application in production and addressing any issues that arise. Building out testing strategies and capabilities, including automation testing and some manual acceptance testing. Designing and developing a test platform for automation, integration, and performance tests, which is to be used by all Engineering squads. Solving defects; by driving root cause analysis Coaching our engineers on non-functional test disciplines, e.g. performance, reliability and scalability Creating, monitoring and maintaining a suite of automated UI and API tests, plus reporting key metrics to stakeholders Setting up CI/CD pipelines, integrating automated tests into our build pipeline Spread your passion for automation and testing across our organisation What you will bring Relevant experience, or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Essential 5 years of experience as a software engineer in testing (QA) Commercial experience with TypeScript and Node.js Expertise in testing methodologies, TDD, and frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, Selenium) Experience designing and developing a platform for automation, integration, and performance tests Strong understanding of software security principles and best practices including OWASP Experience using cloud device farms for automation testing, e.g. BrowserStack or AWS device farm Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling Experience with AWS infrastructure and services (Lambda, EC2, EKS, SQS, RDS) Experience with SQL databases, particularly Postgres Worked with API development and test tools, e.g. Newman, Postman and SOAP UI Desirable Certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g., AWS, Agile) are a plus.Understanding of what contract testing is, testing microservices Understanding of web accessibility guidelines and how to test Exposure to performance and reliability testing Why ubank?
