Become a Network Engineer at Swoop As our Fibre Network Designer, you will be responsible for the design and review of fibre network infrastructures, ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The role is based in Melbourne and a 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract. Key Responsibilities Network Design: Develop and review network architectures for various fibre deployments, including FTTP, FTTx, and Backhaul projects. GIS Application: Utilise GIS tools (such as MapInfo, ArcGIS, or similar) to manage spatial data and enhance network planning and analysis. Design Review & Improvement: Conduct thorough reviews of existing designs, providing actionable recommendations to optimise network performance and cost-effectiveness. CAD Expertise: Create and analyse design drawings using CAD software (DWG files), ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Your experience and qualifications Demonstrable experience in network design with a focus on fibre networks (FTTP, FTTx, HFC, Backhaul) Practical experience with GIS tools (MapInfo, ArcGIS, or similar) to support network planning and analysis. In-depth knowledge of Telco networks and the various types of fibre deployments, including Pit & Pipe, Blown Fibre, and Indexed Fibre. Strong skills in CAD software with experience in working with DWG files. Ready to make a real impact?
