In addition, you must possess a forward-thinking approach to motivate your team to develop their skills to overcome challenges on complex cases and deliver high-quality results.An APS4 Leading Border Force Officer position within the region provides a unique and challenging opportunity for you to develop compliance, operational and administrative skills across a range of functions. Duties and responsibilitiesAn APS4 Leading Border Force Officer is accountable and responsible for supporting the delivery of a range of activities, which may include but are not limited to:Under general direction, perform and achieve a range of routine to moderately complex administrative support work within a fast-paced environmentPossess technical competencies to be able to support border enforcement activities such as search goods or people, conduct patrols or records of interviews and examine documentations or imported items to manage identified threats to Australia's borders.Builds and sustains positive relationship with a range of internal and external stakeholdersProvide advice regarding professional, technical and specialist skills required for the type of work being performed including application of legislationIdentify and escalate potential risks and recommend appropriate operational responses. This position requires the candidate to meet Border Force Officer essential qualifications including:Obtain and maintain essential and role-specific qualificationsSwear an oath or make an affirmation into the ABFMaintain dress and appearance standards according to the ABF uniform policyActively participate in career management (postings and deployments)Attain and maintain relevant medical, fitness and psychometric standardsObtain and maintain a valid driver's licence (preferable). In addition, the candidate may be required to meet the following qualifications dependent on the position:Obtain and maintain an ASIC passObtain and maintain a Port of Authority NSW passAbility to obtain and maintain a current UoF qualification. In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
