Maintenance Engineer

Purpose of this role: The Maintenance Engineer ensures the automated Sortation Systems is fully maintained. Responsible for delivering a weekly schedule of planned works and the delivery of prompt corrective action when unforeseen breakdowns occur. This is a salary based position commencing at 1pm daily. Performing routine checks, inspections and preventative works Driving the development and completion of the maintenance schedule, including record keeping, Project optimisation and planning follow-up works Front-line triage of breakdown works to ensure safe and effective equipment operation to achieve minimal disruption Supporting early identification and rapid correction of electrical or mechanical faults related to sortation systems and critical system components. Manage spare parts inventories, re-order and stock levels Key point of contact for external services providers to plan, schedule and execute specialists works Maintaining a cost-effective maintenance process and ensuring costs are accounted for reported accurately Identifying and implementing improvements to processes and activities to enable more effective work environment To be successful in this role you will have: Australian electrician and mechanical qualifications. Proven experience in leading maintenance/reliability functions in continuous process operating environments Experience in maintaining electrically powered industrial equipment and working with 3-phase motors, variable speed drivers, and simple pneumatics. General knowledge of automated conveyor systems, SCADA and PLC's. Proficiency in reading mechanical and electrical engineering drawings Demonstrated experience in business and process improvement. The successful individual is required to perform hands on work and NOT outsource most of the work. This is very much a hands-on position.
