Young People Medical Assessment Melbourne, VIC $150 per hour

If you are a Medical Registrar / RMO based in Melbourne who is compassionate and would like to deal with young people in the VIC area, we have a position Wednesdays and Fridays ( one of Tuesday or Thursday) available through to end of July (possibly beyond). The medical role - It's a non-billing role / no Medicare involvement, very safe and pleasant work environment with low to moderate acuity (anything acute gets sent off site to hospital). Mostly assessment, treatment, follow-up and discharge planning for all general health needs including referral coordination for secondary and tertiary health needs. Shifts are 6hrs (usually 10-4, but flexible to avoid traffic). Rate: $150 per hour Location : Two secure facilities in Melbourne’s inner North-West. The patients: Young people aged 10-17 years assessed as being at substantial and immediate risk of harm due to behavioural issues, substance misuse, mental health concerns and/or being victims of exploitation or abuse. The team: General & Psychiatric RNs - on-site 9am-8pm ( on-call for new admits), General Practitioners / RMOs - 4 days per week, Youth AOD Clinician - Tues to Fri Free parking on-site and close to public transport.
