Job Description
$92,332 to $104,762 11.5% Super Ongoing - Full Time This role will require intrastate (across Victoria) travel to support our units and offices - as required. ROLE SUMMARY: Provide high level, results driven network support services to ensure the network, communications and infrastructure services for SES are efficient, cost effective and support the organisation's business objectives. This role provides support to the IT Support Services Manager including assisting with budgeting, new technologies as they emerge and assisting to build an improved core network infrastructure for SES. The role also liaises with IT staff on all security and network matters; liaises with external providers; and sets the policies and procedures for SES staff and volunteers to follow. This role is a key function within the VICSES Information Systems team. The technical areas of responsibility extend to the systems which support all our members, offices (13), volunteer units (approximately 150), vehicles and technology assets. This role requires a flexible and solution focused approach with the ability to balance competing demands and to plan for and deliver specific outcomes within clearly defined time and resource constraints. Whilst this is a non-operational position, this role may provide support to operational staff during major or declared operations. Out-of-hours support on a rotating roster basis (average of one week per two months) as the IS Duty Officer is mandatory. Good supplier relationship skills and awareness is also required. WHO WE ARE: Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events. As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
