We have a new contract role available for an experience PostgreSQL DB Developer to provide technical services to one of our Financial Services customers in Melbourne. The successful applicant must hold working rights for Australia and be able to work onsite in Melbourne 2-3 days per week. Responsibilities Integrate applications, work with and manage PostgreSQL databasesInstall, create, configure, upgrade and monitor databases to ensure optimum performanceEvaluate, recommend, manage and execute upgrades and enhancements as required.Provide support to application teams for incidents relating to PostgreSQL DatabasesImplement monitoring and health reports that help reduce and eliminate issues effecting end usersMust be a strong team player and able to work closely with the other technical specialists and team membersInteracts with confidence and ease when interacting with middle- and senior-level managersExcellent interpersonal oral and written communication Technical Skills required 2 years working managing PostgreSQL databasesKnowledge of database design principles, internal configuration, database concepts and structures, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics and isolation levelsAbility to recover PostgreSQL database using native recovery procedures, not using RDS or DBaaS for recoveryPreferred experience in managing clustered PostgreSQL databases on VM, nor RDS or AuroraHas good experience inUnix/Linux Bash scriptingAnsibleTerraform/CloudFormationAble to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to evaluate alternative solutions and/or workaroundsExperience with administering Oracle and SQL Server databases would be highly beneficial If you have the above skill set, and if you would like to be part of a culture that rewards performance and encourages ideas, then please press the "apply now" button below and submit your resume.
