Catering Assistant - Newcastle area

About the role We are seeking Catering Assistants to join the kitchen team in our client's aged care facilities located in Wallsend and Merewether, NSW. Shift Schedule For Wallsend: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday from 1.00pm till 7.00pm. For Merewether: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 3.30pm till 6.30pm. Weekend and Public Holiday Loadings apply. The successful applicant must have received at least 2 doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine, and provide a current Federal Police Check certificate, or be willing to apply for one. Skills and experience Reliable and punctual Aged Care Experience highly desirable Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients. The ability to support the chefs and the team in a busy kitchen. Well-presented and good customer service skills. Access to own reliable transport. Key Responsibilities Providing meal service to aged care residents. Cleaning of serveries and dining room set up Adhering to and completing food safety/quality assurance documents Washing dishes in the main kitchen and plating of meals Preparing salads and sandwiches in the main kitchen Function set up and clear down Assist the Chef and Chef Manager as required in day to day tasks Food and beverage service Benefits and perks This modern aged care facility has free on-site parking available.
