The role also supports the development of short, medium and long term projects on behalf of Intelligence Operations. The team works closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including the AFP's Strategy and Performance Office, Operational Science and Technology, People Centre, Office of National Intelligence (ONI) and National Intelligence Community (NIC). IC&C team members are expected to quickly extract information from a variety of sources and produce outputs which meet the needs of our Executive and stakeholders. As a Team Member you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below. Assist senior team members in consultation and liaison with internal and external stakeholders to support and represent Intelligence capability initiatives and development. Assist and/or lead in the development and delivery of technical capability within AFP Intelligence Operations (IO). Support the development of complex material through research and collation for policy tasks such as briefings, Commissioner talking points, and briefings for Executive representation at high level Intelligence meetings and forums. Take responsibility for the development of ministerial, parliamentary, policy, media and governance responses on matters relating to the AFP’s Intelligence remit. Support the management of National Intelligence Community meetings including associated coordination of requests, reporting and meeting packs. Coordinate processes such as but not limited to, short term Intelligence deployments. Access the AFP vault to read and extract information at the Secret level, and support the team to appropriately convey relevant information to IO Executive and required stakeholders. Continually support the team and team leader and undertake other tasks as required. Eligibility Essential Requirements You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain minimum Negative Vetting 1 clearance. Contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role and a willingness to learn. Notes This position is an AFP Band Level 4. This position has been advertised in multiple locations, however the role is located in Canberra, ACT. Successful applicants must be willing to relocate to Canberra. Proof of a minimum of two COVID-19 vaccinations (or one dose if the Janssen vaccine was used) will be required if an offer of employment is made.
