Position Information Bonnyrigg High School is a partially selective, co-educational school in South Western Sydney on the land of the Cabrogal clan of the Dharug nation. The school has an enrolment of approximately 1660 students, including 98% from a non-English speaking background and 3% Aboriginal students. Bonnyrigg High School is a high performing school with a strong learning culture and high expectations of students. Selection Criteria In addition to the general selection criteria, A highly visible instructional leader with a proven capacity to lead teaching and learning and build the capacity of staff to implement evidence-based practices which generate improved student outcomes while promoting a positive culture of high expectations. An inspirational educational leader with a proven ability to lead the executive and staff teams in strategic planning and evaluative practice to generate continual improvement and achieve the improvement measures in the school's excellence plan. An innovative and responsive leader with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to strengthen partnerships and engage students, parents and staff in collaborative strategies that facilitate growth in student attendance, engagement, wellbeing and learning outcomes. Demonstrated capacity to build authentic relationships with the community, and external agencies to build educational partnerships to support all students to thrive in their chosen pathway. General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. Special Notes This is an above centrally identified permanent position established through school funds. The successful candidate’s continued appointment to this position will be subject to the continuity of funding, the ongoing requirement of the position and the educational needs of the school.
