The Opportunity: As the Audience Editor at Seven, you’ll be responsible for optimising 7NEWS Digital’s content strategy to grow the news website’s audience both on and off platform. The role involves analysing audience data, segmenting readership and tailoring content to meet the needs of different groups. You’ll work closely with editorial teams and the Director of Digital News to ensure content resonates with specific audience segments. Based at our head office in Eveleigh, Sydney and reporting to the Director of Digital News, you will be responsible for: Analysing audience data using tools like Google Analytics, Google Trends and Google Search Console to identify content preferences and what resonates with different audience segments. Collaborating with editorial teams to optimise content for engagement and SEO. Developing strategies for content segmentation and personalization based on user behaviour. Partnering with editorial and SEO teams to ensure articles reach the right audience. Monitoring and reporting on audience engagement metrics and content performance, providing actionable insights to further refine content strategy, enhance engagement, page views, and retention. Managing social media strategies to attract audience segments and drive traffic from social platforms. Working closely with writers, editors, and designers to tailor content to audience interests and needs. About You: You have genuine passion for news along with strong data analysis skills, an understanding of audience behaviour, and the ability to deliver personalized content that enhances user engagement and drives traffic to the website. You will have: Expertise of social strategy and how to optimise content for each platform. Comprehensive understanding of SEO strategy and analysis including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs and SEMrush. Extensive knowledge of how Google Analytics can be used to change editorial strategies, optimise content and drive direct and internal traffic. Proficiency in using Google Trends and Google Tag manager to build editorial lists and guide strategy. Awareness of the importance of AI search tools and how platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Deepseek can be used as an additional source of traffic. Why Seven Network?
