Proposal Engineer

What You Will Do Join Powertec Pumps as a Proposal Engineer in our fully office-based Reading location. In this role, you'll be responsible for quoting works based on customer enquiries and service/maintenance sheets. You'll provide vital support to our engineering team by resolving on-site knowledge issues and ensuring our services align with the current and future needs of the business and its customers. Please note that this position is fully office-based in Reading. Applicants must be able to work on-site daily, so please only apply if you are local to Reading or willing to commute. Your efforts will be key in improving the quality of work completed by Powertec Pumps. Help maintain a reduced backlog of quotations. Collaborate closely with the operations team to deliver service KPIs. Manage service quality effectively. Foster a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and empowerment in line with Powertec's values. Maintain strong relationships with engineers and customers. Ensure servicing and maintenance comply with regulations and OEM requirements. Adhere to contractual response times for both impaired and non-impaired sites. Improve the “first-time fix” ratio. Reduce the number of customer disputes. What We’re Looking For Required: Excellent customer service skills, consistently meeting the expectations of internal and external customers. Strong mechanical engineering background (experience with pumps is a plus). Ability to assess and create quotations for repairs. Time served in a technical environment. Computer literate, with familiarity in Outlook and Excel (experience with Sage would be an advantage). Preferred: Knowledge of British Standard BSEN12845 and Factory Mutual regulations.
