Job Description

KS2 Teacher Location: Derby Pay: £170 – £190 per day Contract: Long-term contracted hours (term-time only) Days: 2 to 3 days per week (0.5 job share) Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Qualifications Required: QTS / PGCE or equivalent Start date: As soon as possible (we appreciate notice periods) Teach with Impact – Without the Planning If you love teaching but don’t want to spend your evenings planning, this role is for you. We are looking for a passionate lower KS2 teacher to join a small focused primary school on a job-share basis, alternating days with an experienced co-teacher. You’ll be working with a Year 4 class in an environment designed to support quality teaching and real student progress. The school has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted and takes great pride in its nurturing approach. The children have made fantastic progress this year, and we are looking for someone who can continue to build on this success, helping them to develop both academically and personally. What We’re Looking For We are seeking a qualified teacher (QTS/PGCE) with experience in KS2 who is enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to student progress. Experience in Lower KS2 is a bonus, but we welcome individuals with a range of experience looking for a new challenge. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside a skilled team to support both academic achievement and personal development. We are looking for someone who is passionate about education, able to engage students through creative and effective teaching methods, and driven by the desire to make a real impact in the classroom. What Makes This Role Stand Out? No Planning Required – Focus on teaching, not lesson prep. Small Class Sizes – More time to engage with students and tailor learning. Creative Freedom – Innovate, adapt, and use your own teaching style. Strong Team Support – Work alongside higher-level teaching assistants (HLTAs) and an experienced co-teacher. Long-Term Stability – A consistent role with term-time-only hours, giving you a better work-life balance. Outstanding School Environment – Work in a school that has been rated Outstanding by OFSTED and is dedicated to high standards and student progress. The Interview Process If shortlisted, you will be invited to meet the longstanding headteacher for a 45-minute interview. This will be a friendly, professional conversation about your experience, teaching philosophy, and approach to supporting children’s learning and development. You may also be asked to discuss a lesson idea or a past experience where you made a difference in a child's education. There will be time for you to ask questions and learn more about the school and team. Why Join Us? This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to teach without the pressures of planning, in a supportive, high-achieving school, with a team that believes in making a difference—one child at a time.
