SENIOR QUALITY ENGINEER IN GLOUCESTERSHIRE Are you a Senior Quality Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity in Gloucestershire? Then get in touch Kingston Barnes has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer for one of our clients in Somerset. The Senior Quality Engineer is required to improve the quality of the manufacturing process using various quality tools. The successful Senior Quality Engineer will receive support and development which will provide you with an excellent opportunity to further yourself and progress your career within a continually expanding business. The Role: As a Senior Quality Engineer you will be involved in all parts of the quality process from delivering PPAP and other similar part or process approvals, which includes gauge studies, process flow diagrams, control plans, process capability studies, ISIR’s & material certifications. You will be involved in 8D and 5Y analysis. You will also work with or need to undertake: • Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) • ISO9001 Quality Management System and documentation • To understand and utilize all modern quality tools & techniques in the pursuit of meeting departmental and individual targets. • Expert use of standard hand tools such as Micrometers, Calipers, Gauge blocks etc. • Correct interpretation and measurement of technical engineering drawings, including geometrical tolerances • Understand and operate advanced measuring tools • Concept design, development, validation & implementation of new or amended measurement systems & devices • Internal & supplier auditing, involvement with external/ customer audits • Customer and supplier liaison including visits (may include overseas travel) • Writing technical, supplier and quality engineering reports • Delivering Quality improvement projects within a timely manner • Support production and other departments with projects, continuous improvement, investigative and development work • Reverse engineering and application support • Making presentations, sharing information and training colleagues • Preparing material & providing quality training to production members • Product Manufacture Quality planning • Goods Inwards Quality planning • Outgoing goods Quality planning • In process & final inspection Quality planning • Application of internal standards • Process control & internal audits Requirements: Quality Engineering background 8D, 5Y experience Ideally within a precision manufacturing company/ mediumheavy industry Thorough understanding of ISO9001 Experience with a range of quality improvement techniques A track record of driving through quality improvements essential Ability to understand manufacturing drawings and documentation desirable.
